Because it was born from pure, wild, and unfettered divine magic, the very Ley Lines of Dahl pulse with abnormal strength. This legacy is why magic is so potent, unpredictable, and readily available across the world\u2014it is woven into the planet\u2019s geological core.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dahl serves as the Prime World acting as the nexus point that naturally attracts and anchors all major planes, both inner and outer. The Glowing Covert\u00a0 of Dinnephan, with it\u2019s flickering fluorescent trees, shares several shifting borders with the Feywild. While the deep volcanic vents of the Shattered Pinnacle are rumored to contain nascent rifts leading directly to the Nine Hells and the chaotic realms of the Abyss.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>The Age of Iron and Blood: The Great World War<br \/>(150 Years Ago)<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For millennia, Dahl was ruled by disparate, warring kingdoms of humans, dwarves, orcs, elves, and others.\u00a0 About 200 years ago, a confluence of failed harvests, dwindling resources, and a sudden surge in Leer&#8217;s powerful influence led to the horrific conflict known as the Great World War.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was an era of unprecedented devastation, where alliances fractured daily, and entire cities were consumed by arcane weaponry. Hundreds of millions of innocents died.\u00a0 The ancient Elvin kingdom, fractured and near collapse, seemed destined to fall alongside its neighbors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the midst of this chaos, a brilliant young Elvin commander named Arefedal rose through the ranks. Unlike other warlords who sought conquest, Arefedal sought <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">unity<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. He was not the rightful heir to the Elvin throne; the royal line had been decimated. Instead, he won support through devastatingly effective strategic genius, unyielding personal courage on the battlefield, and, crucially, his merciful treatment of conquered peoples.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the decisive Siege of the Three Oaks, Arefedal masterfully used a rare alignment of Peet and Leer to channel a surge of magical power, breaking the siege lines of the Orcish and Human coalition. This victory effectively ended the war by demonstrating that a unified Elven force, guided by a disciplined leader, was insurmountable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arefedal was not coronated; he was elected by consensus by the surviving leaders of the major races, desperate for peace. He took the title of Emperor, uniting the world of Dahl under a single, strong banner dedicated to preventing further global conflict.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>The Emerald Reign: Emperor Arefedal<br \/>(Present Day)<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emperor Arefedal is now approximately 200 years old, having ruled for 150 years. He resides in the breathtaking capital city of Traeliorn, a spectacular tree-city built high in the canopy of the Elvin Forest of Aethel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arefedal&#8217;s long reign is defined by a deep and complex character: he is intrinsically kind and diplomatic, yet fierce when protecting the fragile peace he established. He is renowned as the most just ruler Dahl has ever known, often personally presiding over disputes between species. The center of political and magical study.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grumore (Dreso): A massive human city built near rich iron mines in the Dreso foothills, known for its disciplined army and pragmatic bureaucracy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Norathor (Questrua): The ancient heart of the scholarly and priestly classes in the region of Questrua, famed for its monumental libraries and devotion to the Greater Gods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ayslin Gulch (Ubrington): A notorious trading port and swamp city built on massive wooden pylons deep in the Ubrington marshlands, where goods and information (both legal and illicit) flow freely.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Places of Mystery and Danger<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Dragon&#8217;s Maw: A massive, dormant caldera constantly venting sulfurous smoke, rumored to be the impact site of the divine magic that created the world, or perhaps a gateway to the lower planes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Angry Fields: A vast expanse of perpetually disturbed earth where the dead do not stay buried. It is a haunted battlefield from the Great World War, infused with necromantic energies that prevent crop growth and defy conventional burial rites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shattered Pinnacle: A mountain peak that mysteriously broke off and now floats several hundred feet above the ground.
